Hi I'm new here..
I'm wondering if weight gain or heavy weighing ppl have or get cancer.

I was always under the impression that when an indivudual gets cancer, whether knowing it or not , one symptom is losing weight , or dropping weight in a fairly quick period , when getting cancer... whatever the body part ,
Weight is an indicator is this true?

Can a person not know they have cancer ?and what makes a person get checked for varouis types? as I've mentioned I was thinking weight loss along with lumps and the obvouis were indictators..but is a person that is over weight still get cancer? In otherwords can a person have weight gain in also getting some type of cancer or form?or have a very healthy appetite..???

Possibly, I think ascites can cause weight gain but most likely weight gain is weight gain. Obesity is linked to forms of cancer like colon and others. Weight gain can be a symptom when undergoing cancer treatment in some cases.
