I am sorry for your mom's diagnosis. No, cancer always does not mean the worst. The outcome usually depends on the stage cancer she has. There are alot of websites to get good information from. I hope for the best for yall.
I am sorry about your mom.I am here to tell you this can be beat.My very good friend had throat cancer, stage 4 b which is pretty bad. His treatment consisted of 35 radiation treatments and 3 rounds of chemo. The treatment is very tough.Make sure she bulks up prior to tx and see if the doctor can give her something to try to save her salivary glands. A peg tube for feeding can help.It saved my friends life, he coud not swallow even water during treatment.He could not taste either.He got pretty thin. But he is now 2 years out from treatment and doing well. The loss of saliva is his biggest side effect.He can eat alot of things now but breads are very hard without saliva.The road is tough but there is light at the end of the tunnel.Be there for her and tell her to be strong! One problem there, My mum also had Kidney falier and has had chemo once before and now she is saying you cant go threw loosing all her hair again so I dont think she'll even bother having it
so im bassically looking for some information and help.
