I would like to hear from people who have multiple myleoma, know someone who has it or know anything about it. I found out on December 11th that my dad has multiple myleoma. I had just found out that my mom had ovarian cancer and she passed away on the 12th of December. She didn't go to the doctor very often and refused to go until it was too late. My dad has been taking thalidomide. I have read that multiple myleoma is somewhat rare.

I cannot help you or answer your question, but I do know if you also contact the Leukemia and Lymphona Society or the American Cancer Society they will probably be able to supply you with a lot of information about it.

I'm here to learn more about this dreadful cancer (multiple myeloma). My mother was diagnosed with multiple myeloma and has had two bouts with the thalidomide now. Has warded off the cancer but not without serious side affects. She is not the typical patient either as she is suffering with COPD and on oxygen 24/7.

Any insight as to what lies ahead would be greatly appreciated.

My aunt has multiple myleoma. She has had it for many years. She has been taking medication and it has not progressed. There is a myleoma clinic in Arkansas that has made great strides with this disease. It is the only place in the United States that specializes in this type of cancer. You may want to try to find info on this. If you would like more info. I can ask my aunt for the exact info. I don't think that she would still be around if she did not go to Arkansas for her treatment. They also work with her local doctors for her treatment. I hope this helps.
