Need some info please - Cancer Message Board

Hi all...my cousin who is 44 yrs. old...female...she used to smoke but quit more than 10 yrs. ago is sick...she was admitted to the hospital for walking pnemonia(sp?) and they did x-rays and found tumors or spots on her liver and lung...her blood count is very low and they've been giving her blood platlettes I think cuz her blood cells aren't behaving with each other...She was gauntes also...and has lost close to 40lbs....they also did a bone marrow test and just got those results back...they said they found spots on the bone marrow and they're moving her to Roswell(it's a cancer hospital). I believe they think she has bone marrow cancer? I have never heard of this...Has anyone else? Where can I find out some info on this for her so I can let her know the right questions to ask and for treatments etc. I'd appreciate any help here. Thanks

Well my cousing heard back from the Dr. and it is bone marrow cancer and she's in stage 4. They'll be moving her to the cancer hospital hopefully to start more tests and treatments. Can anyone tell me what stage 4 means? Is this gonna happen fast? Are there any treatments at all? Thanks

DoeZ, I hope you have found additional information on bone marrow cancer concerning your cousin.

Stage IV is severe and usually means the cancer has spread to another organ.
