The first thing to do is see the dr. They'll probably want to do an xray or CT scan to see what it is. What they do after that will depend on the results of the imaging test.
I understand your worry. Back in January, I noticed several lumps in my neck. One was under my right ear and one was in the front, just above my collar bone. After a CT scan, it was determined that the lump under my ear was an infected lymph node and the one in the lower front was an enlarged thyroid. I was then put on antibiotics for the lymph node and am currently on suppressive therapy for my thyroid.
