A lump in my armpit - Cancer Message Board

Hi everyone, i apologise if i am being silly and come across a little naive, im just really worried as all day ive had a kinda pain in my armpit, but thought when i got home and took my shirt off id just find a spot or bite or something like that. However ive taken my shirt off to find nothing there. So this lump is under the skin. Its not actually in my armpit, if you could imagine putting your arm in the air its maybe an inch above where you get hair? i hope you know what i mean. Anyway i look on all these websites for help or advice and havent really got anywhere as i dont know if this would come under breast, or arm or what?? Can anyone put my mind at rest, or the opposite..tell me to get to the doctors? if it was anything to worry about, how would it feel? Would it hurt as this actually hurts if i press it?

Have you had this checked out by the doctor as of yet? I recently went for a mamo and a sono of my right breast and arm pit due to lumps. As I found that they are really nothing at this time to be concerned with, however I need another check in three months to see if there has been any changes. Better to be safe than sorry. SO if its you needing someone to tell you to go to the doctor please do so. Also sometimes our hormones change and the food and drink we put into our bodies can make these changes happen. The cycle of a woman can be a tricky thing. Got to love it.
