 CA 19-9 numbers are rising
ok, my dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last Oct '07, 9 months ago. The CA19-9 # was 5400. He is 83, so not a candidate for whipple surgery. He did one round of chemo/radiation, CA# went down to 59 and a follow-up round of chemo, which ended in June. He has had a stent replaced in the bile duct twice. Last hospitalization was June 26, CA # was 189. Today, I found out that the CA 19-9 blood test on July 18th, was 310. This seems like a big jump in 3 weeks time. Does anyone know what to expect as far as a pattern for this increase? Later, Linda
