Help please!! - Cancer Message Board

Im 19 years old and im really scared.

Ive discoverd a small hard immobile lump in my neck its just by my hairline on level with my earlobe, Ive read it could be a lymph node but also read that the fact that its immobile and non tender to touch means its cancer.

In all honesty ive been feeling a little funny the past few days, waking up feeling like i was getting ill because of a slight scratchy throat etc. Im going to see my doctor in the morning but i often run to her panicing with all my lumps and bumps and im scared she'll just think im over reacting again from reading things on the internet. has anyone got any advice please?

Hi Becky - you are doing the right thing by seeing your doctor. If you have a concern about anything - don't feel like you are inconveniencing your doctor -that's what they are there for. You have to be control of your health. Knowone will look after you better then you. You know your own body better than anyone else - so trust your instincts. Many times these nodes are benign - but you need to find that out for peace of mind. If it is something - the sooner you deal with it the better. Good luck.
