Ultrasound and pancreas nodule

Hi,
I am getting very confused about my doctor's findings. I have cirrhosis of the liver and every six months I have a ultrasound done, to check my liver. The last two ultrasound spotted a 6mm nodule on the head of my pancreas. I had a MRI done and it didn't pick up anything. Then I had a CT scan and got the same results, nothing. My question is can a simple ultrasound pick up something wrong, where a MRI or CT scan can't see it? The doctor's solution is just to watch it through my ultrasounds, but I want to know if I should be taking a more active approach. If anyone has some advice I would appreciate it.
Thanks.

Re: Ultrasound and pancreas nodule

If you are like me right now........you are probably going crazy. Don't wait. Get a second opinion quick. All I have read.......nothing should be left on the pancreas. And with pancreas cancer the longer you wait the less likely for a cure. Only the early dx have a good chance. Don't wait. Whatever mine is ......it is 3.5 cm. Waiting anxiously for the Dr to call. He has the report but haven't heard from him yet. I am really about to nut up!

Re: Ultrasound and pancreas nodule

Hi, thanks. I have been to three doctor's and they are all saying the same thing. They see a 6mm nodule on the head of my pancreas on the ultrasound. I have had two ultrasounds (both showed it) but the CT scan and MRI does not. So I am wondering why it cannot be located on these tests. I'm a little confused. I also have liver cirrhosis so I get ultrasounds every 6 months. so the doctor's have agreed just to watch the nodule to see if it changes. I'm not sure about the "wait and see attitude", I think the issue should be addressed, I just want to know if MRI and CT Scans pick up nodules on the head of the pancreas. Thank for you reply.
