Advice on treatment.

I recently discovered a small lump on my testicle during a self check. I ran up to the doc-in-box for a confirmation and a referral.

The doctor was as concerned as I was that it may be testicular cancer and referred me to a urologist.

My appointment with the urologist is not until the end of April. This particular urologist came highly recommended from a in-law who had a grim outlook and recovered.

I haven't had a check up in a few years, (I'm 27).

The idea of waiting 2 months for any answers is rather daunting and sounds dangerous.

Should I find a different urologist in the meantime, go to a family doctor or just wait for my appointment?

I don't have a regular doctor because I don't have medical insurance but I don't have a inability to pay either.

Re: Advice on treatment.

I agree with you that getting something done sooner than 2 months from now may be a very good idea. I agree with your suggestions that ways to do that could be to see another doctor sooner, if you can.
You might ask if you can get in early if there's a cancellation.
This web link says that highly respected guidelines with a recent date (2008) recommend that there are some blood tests that can be used to help diagnose some kinds of testicular cancers:

Would somebody at the doctor's office who referred you to a specialist be willing to order the fairly common blood tests AFP, HCG and LDH?
Would somebody at that office be willing to look carefully at the whole situation and decide whether it's a good idea to call the specialist and ask if you could be seen sooner?
