| MGUS or Myloma
I had blood results come back with some of the following results. Gamma gobulin 5.0 (reference 0.6-1.6)"
"total protein 11.4"
"Interpretation....Visual inspection of the electropherogram reveals the presence of an
abnormal marked concentration peak migrating in the gamma region.
Estimated concentration is 4.5 g/dL."
"Immunofixation
Reference Range:
NO MONOCLONAL PROTEINS
DETECTED
IGG LAMBDA monoclonal band present in the GAMMA region".
"abnormal protein band 4.5"
I just had my first appointment with an oncologist and he reassured me that chances are good that it was a mild form of MGUS.
A total body xray turned out fine, now they are checking my urine, bone marrow and will be doing a CT scan.
From what I'm reading, MGUS only applies to levels of 3.0g/dl. Does this mean that I probably have myloma?
I am completely healthy except for a chronic hoarse voice--that is getting worse. (My other docs have been telling me its' GERD for 2 years).
Thanks
