Blood Work

I fell in April and have a compression fracture. My neurosurgeon said that being 54 was too young for this to happen and contacted my endo doc. He ran tests and said my blood calcium was slightly elevated. He told me to quit taking hydrochlorothiazide for a week and repeat blood work. I have taken it for years. I am still taking another diuretic (Aldactone). He now says that my blood calcium is slightly elevated and I have an abnormal protein band and low Vitamin D. I am seeing an onocologist next week. Everything I reads says that I have cancer. Can there be anything else?
I am having a procedure done on my back next week and my blood work and UA for surgery was in range today.
