Enlarged node in neck after 6 months

About 6 months ago I found a slightly enlarged node on the right of my neck, I freaked and had a bunch of docs check it out and all said it's probably nothing but come back in 6 months if it's still there.

It's about 1-1.5cm long, smooth, firm but not hard, mobile, and feels just fuller than the equivalent on the opposite side. It hasn't changed in size but a doc recently felt it, after I'd long forgotten about it, and told me to get it checked out.

I'm fairly sure the reason it became enlarged is because I relentlessly poked and prodded it for days when I first found it and it became very sore.

I had been told that it may remain permanently enlarged but this doc told me that it should have gone down by now. Thoughts on this?

I am otherwise in perfect health.

How old are you? Do you smoke? Do you have any other issues in your ear, nose throat area? I would go to an ear nose throat specialist and have him feel the node and give you a thorough exam. A fine needle biopsy may be performed. Did you have an infection of any kind and did the doctors give you a script for antibiotics? Let us know what you find out.

it has not increased in size in the last 6 months, or if it has only by a tiny tiny tiny amount, and i have no other symptoms including no weight loss
