| Distal Bile Duct Cancer
My Mom was recently diagnosed with distal bile duct cancer. He is 72 years old and had her 2nd chemo treatment yesterday. They are saying it is in-operable. However, I believe we need to get a second opinion... and a 3rd. I want to know why it is in-operable, what the stage is etc... We have pulled all of her medical records in hopes of having the Mayo clinic reviewing the diagnoses.
The doctor who placed the stent in did mention that sometimes whipple surgery is an option. He did say however, that Mom's cancer was advanced. We really seem to have to dig to try and get the answers. Mum is otherwise a very healthy/active 72 year old. As in most cases, she did not know anything was wrong until she turned jaundice.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.
