I don't know... I had a head and neck CT scan awhile back, with contrast.
While I'm concerned about the level of radiation I was exposed to, I don't feel like I'm about to imminently drop dead of cancer or anything.
Everybody gets CT scans sometime during their life.
Wise people limit their CT scans- especially when they're young- and have them only when strictly necessary, because it's a sure bet you'll need some when you're old, and you don't want to be exposed to too
many during your lifetime.
It's the cumulative effect of having many CT scans over a lifetime that really raises your cancer risk significantly.
I think the risk from one CT scan is pretty negligible.
Take a deep breath, Mom. Everything's okay.
