What is a mass?

I have a large lump on my labia and the ultrasound shows a large solid mass. What does this mean? I have to go see a gyno/oncologist. I am so afraid. I have no pain. Any ideas?

Re: What is a mass?

A "mass" means there's some sort of solid tissue where it shouldn't be. Could be a fatty, benign tumor or it could be something else. Do see your gynecologist asap.

As for worrying, my philosophy is to take each step as it comes - there's always time to worry later (and often it turns out it was nothing very worrying at all.) But worrying wears you out and distracts you from taking action.
