stage 4 cancer, no treatment...what to expect

hi. A very dear friend says he has stage 4 cancer. He says its all over. Refuses chemo of any kind. What can I expect? He says the docs say 30-60 days. What does this look like for someone who refuses treatment?? Thank you in advance. We are all trying really hard to wrap our minds around this and are having a really hard time.

Re: stage 4 cancer, no treatment...what to expect

I think it depends on where the primary cancer started. Some are faster than others. Even if the cancer has spread everywhere the primary cancer is still the cancer that is being dealt with. Melanoma, pancreas & some lung cancers are known to be much faster than other cancers.

I'm so sorry your friend is dealing with this, but at a certain point it's quality of life rather than remaining time I expect & comes down to personal choice. I'm not sure what I'd do faced with such news......
