Could this be nodular melanoma? Pictures.

Over the course of the past 3 or 4 months, I have developed a small, strange red growth on my mid-back. Initially, I thought it was just an insect bite, but it continued to bleed very frequently and spontaneously, and it has now developed into a very distinct growth. It doesn't bleed nearly as easily as it use to, but it is growing pretty quickly (now about the size of a pencil eraser).

Does anyone have any idea what this is? Healthy 26-year old female. I have a dermatologist appointment in about two weeks. Thanks!
