| Questions on possible cancer
Waiting is driving me crazy!! My pain dr. did some blood workup and it came back looking like I might have Multiple Myeloma. I was sent to see a Hematologist/Oncologist and he repeated some tests and did some others. At my appt. yesterday, he said the numbers indicated either Multiple Myeloma or Lymphoma. I go back in 3 months for retesting.
No one can probably help me. I am just so nervous!!! I know he mentioned the IGM Total and that was 649 (Norm was 48 - 271). The other one mentioned was BETA 2 Microgobulin and that was 4.5 (norm was less than 2.6).
I was told if my numbers changed -- gone up, then they would have to do something. If they were about the same, then I would just come in every 6 months for check ups.
Do I have reason to be concerned????????? My grandmother had Leukemia, can that effect me?
