Salivary Cancer?

Hey all. Recently I noticed while brushing my teeth that when I move my tongue to the side, one of the ?Sublingual glands? is larger on one side than the other. It is soft to the touch. Not painful from what I can tell and is not shaped like a bump but it seems as though the whole side is larger than the other. I can't see any real noticeable discoloration. Also I might add that I had recently been smoking for a total of 9 months but have recently quit. I went to the dentist a few weeks ago and I'm assuming it can't be too serious unless she missed it. I have an appointment in two days to fill a cavity on the opposite side. I will ask then. But I was wondering what you guys thought.
