 mediastinal mass
I'm not sure I'm putting this thread in the right place, but since what I have could be cancer here goes. I had knee replacement surgery in April, and at that time they did a ct of my chest. They found that I have a mediastinal mass. I had never heard of this, but I guess they are not real uncommon, anyway, I am scheduled for surgery on the 16th and I am scared to death. I don't know if they are going to do robotic surgery or a sternotomy, either one scares me. I won't know if its cancer until they have removed it and it is tested, the doctor said he doesn't think it is but until it's tested nobody knows for sure. The mass is now pushing on my windpipe and my aorta so it has to come out but I'm so scared. If anyone knows anything about this or has had this problem please let me know, thanks
