I noticed this last night. I have a small moveable lump on the right hand side above my collarbone. It's freaking me out because you put "lump" into Google and it comes up with cancer. I'm even too scared to see the doctor in case it is.
I have no other symptoms. The lump itself doesn't hurt and its moveable.
Any advice? I had a blood test a few months ago and my thyroid levels were abnormal, so is it anything to do with that? Help.
A lump can be caused by many benign things: lymph node, swollen gland, lipoma, inflamed fatty tissue, scar tissue. Then there are the more serious causes: HIV, cancer, etc. Most lumps aren't dangerous, but it's very important to go to a doctor and have it tested just in case. If it's moveable, beneath the skin and not in a location where nodes are, my guess is it's a lipoma. But see a doctor!
