Could candidas albicans (systemic overgrowth of yeast) explain away ADD/anxiety symptoms in my son?

Yes, this can be cause of ADD symptoms, probably anxiety symptoms as well.

I think that a systemic infection of any type can certainly aggravate ADD symptoms and maybe even cause them. There's 2 caveats: 1) it is truly a systmic infection (as opposed to a local infection like thrush in the mouth) and 2) its presence is diagnosed by a physician, not by a salesperson in a healthfood store.

I was searching the web for candidas and ran across a great article. I was not sure if I could post the web site here as the article is copywrite. Still alittle iffy and unsure on the posting rules. The article was very informative and had loads of information on this condition and what implications it has on health. It didn't specifially address ADHA or ADD but that is certainly a possibilty. It is a long article and worth reading. I am "not" promoting this person's web site or services. I just think that the article answers a lot of questions that one has about the balance of yeast and candidas in our bodies.

That was the most informative site on candidas. There's a book out there called the Yeast Connectiong that goes into great detail about symptomss. ADHD and anxiety were repeatedly mentioned. It goes on to say that 75 % of children that are diagnosed with ADD are also diagnosed with candidas and have a history of chronic ear infections when they were little. Go figure. Thanks for the input.
