Hi all,
I've been recently diagnosed w/ systematic lupus and one of my problems in the past 18 months has been chronic yeast infections. They are different than what I used to experience when I'd get an occasional yeast infection also in how they act and respond to medication. I used to take one 100 mg Diflucan and my infection was gone in 24 hrs. Now I take 3 200 mg Diflucan a day for three days then it got bad again so I refilled it and took 3 more and used a Monistat OTC remedy also and I think I'm finally getting relief but I never know for how long. I actually weaned my baby earlier than planned because of thrush on my nipples and skin under my breasts that wouldn't respond well to treatment and kept coming back. It's almost like it's just dormant and then pretty soon here it comes again. Several months ago I even got it all over my hands and under my wedding ring etc... Anyone else experience this and what have you found helpful? I've had cultures and swabs and all that fun gyno stuff and no STD or anything else that may be undiagnosed, just enough yeast to bake bread with... every few weeks... for the past year and a half.... that's frustrating and messing with my sex life with my hubby.... and my general overall well being. Anyone?
