Samuelemouse,
There are many OTC remedies that are antifungal as well as candida killers.
Caprilic acid is sold in a delayed action form --Capystatin and in a sustained release form -- Caprinex and Capricin.
Garlic also inhibits bacteria grow a Good brand is Garlinase from Enzymatic Therapy.
Aloe vera juice ---kills yeast by boosting the white cells abilities!!!
Pau d'arco capsules and tea, clove tea, and maitake tea --- all contain anti-fungal agents.
Kolorex that is a patented herb from New Zealand is GOOD.
Candida Forte from Nature's Plus is good for mild candida overgrowth.
As you may know Candida thrives on sugary food ---so you need to cut out the things that contains sugar including most fruit and simple carbohydrates that are readily converted to sugar in your mouth. This cuts off the candida food supply and should be used in any anti-candida program.
I have read that calcium is usually lacking in those that have Candidiais and magnesium is needed for calicium absorption along with vitamin D.
And, of course you have to recolonize your intestinal tract with the friendly bacteria as migables suggested. But, I have found that because I don't go on a very strict anti-candida diet --yogurt and probiotic supplements just don't eliminate the candida overgrowth for me--- I eat ice cream and sometimes cookies--- not good for candida.
People that take anti-acids and Proton Pump Inhibiters cause there to be less acid in their stomachs resulting in fungi growth. Regular acids or higher acid in the stomach inhibits bacteria growth.
I wish you well---Harry |
