| Re: Long stringy white things in my urine - Candida?
I have not yet been able to determine if there is a acidophilus supplement that really makes it past the acids in your stomach in significant numbers. I am currently taking Lactobacillus GG (Culturelle from Conagra Foods) but will probably add Garden of Life's Fungal Defense and Primal Defense - you start with the fungal for 2 weeks then switch. It supposedly has HSO's that make it past the stomach acid. Who knows? Too bad there isn't much interest in the medical community regarding Nutrition.
I was a little dissapointed to read you have been doing a cleanse for 3 months without success. I've been at it two weeks and notice no changes in my stool. I'm using Capryl and Oil of Oregano Capsules, Fresh Garlic (Hard to stomach so I cover it with Olive Oil), and Unrefined Spectrum Brand Coconut Oil. I will see a Natropath on Monday that knows a lot about Candida.
Did you follow the diet closely? I am doing all that I can in that regard, I eat chicken, beef (Natural - no antiboitics), red peppars, more garlic (cooked), onions, and raw almonds. It's tough becaue I don't know what else is "safe" to eat. I read one diet and it says fresh tomatoes are okay, then the next says they are not. Another says you can eat a small amount of Granny Smith Apples, but no others. I am trying this today for the first time in 2 weeks. I tried a small amount of blueberries (again okay on some versions not on others) 2 days ago and didn't feel better but don't know if I felt worse. Other than that NO fruit at all. No Dairy, basically only the mentioned foods and a few sunflower seeds (same goes, okay on some not on others). The diet is the worst part, well and the taste of the wormwood, clove liquid stuff - YUK! I can't taste the capsules because I swallow them fast.
I did read somewhere that Pau D'Arco is something you don't want to take for a long time and you need to break from it. Might not be good for the liver. So I take the Capryl and the Oil of Oregeno Capsules. Hopefully the new Natropath will have some good insights as to whether I really have Candida, as I have many many symptoms in regard to "flu like" illness, but no visible signs (Thrush, White Patches, etc.).
By the way the active ingredients in ParaGon and Colonix are very similar. Neither gives exact formulation, and ParaGon adivises Flax Seed over Phyllsium Husks, because the Phyllsium Husks absorb liquid. I find if I drink a lot of water it doesn't matter, so I have added Phyllsium Seed Husks and it is helping my bowel movements. Before I started the cleanse I had perfectly normal bowel movements - at least one major one each moring and again usually smaller in the afternoon. Since taking the ParaGon the bowel movements have become more distant, but still one per day. It may be just the diet and elimination of fruits. I used to eat my share of fiber in the forum of whole grains and fruits. So I don't think I have parasites but I may have Yeast. I had many amalgams removed and need to explore that angle (detox) still. I take many supplements but need more, and hope the Doctor will be able to help.
I still fail the "spit test". And I would guess (but not with certainty) that a white discharge in the urine is probably related to the yeast, especially if you are female. I am male and my urine has always been pretty close to clear due to the large amounts of bottled water I drink.
