Today I purchased a bottle of KEFIR fresh from a farm.
Reading the ingredients on the bottle it read.
Whole cows milk,Lactic Cultures and Yeast. Looking it up on the Internet it gave a list of different Conditions which it was said to be helpful for.
Candida was listed among them but I always understood that Yeast should be avoided if you suffer from Candida.
Has anyone else tried Kefir Milk with Candida and how did you get on with it.
Is it a different yeast to that which causes Candida.
Thanks for any replies, Solofelix.
Solo,
Kefir has an interesting history-- it is cultured from Kefir grains and introduced in the Carcasas Mountains to the people there by Mohammud abound 400 AD --hundreds of years prior to refrigeration. It cannot be dublicated like other cultured dairy products.
Some people believe it comes from manna named by the people of Israel when Moses wandered in the desert for 40 years -- they ate manna. Read Exodus, chapter 16.
To keep those people health and alive for 40 years with manna is a miracal in itself.
I drink kefir daily made commercially with cows milk. Its taste is very different from home made Kefir. And, I have never made it with whole milk or goats milk.
I think KEFIR is a very healthy food that is loaded with many different probiotic strains that we all need in our GI tract.
I could not prove that it controls candida problems but it certainly would not do any harm-- I suggest that you continue drinking it for better health. Also, if you get a chance with kefir grains --have it made with goats milk since there were no cows around in Moses's time.
I wish you well---Harry

Thanks Harry,
I love Goats milk and goats cheese, so will give it a try.
In actual fact I love goats as an animal, facinating creatures. They roam wild in the mountains where I live.
Your story was also interesting.
All the best, Solofelix.
I drink kefir made from whole milk on a daily basis and it has helped tremendously! The main thing I've found out for me is it has to do with the type of cow. I found it has to do with the type of protein. People that usually suffer from candida also have developed food allergies to dairy hence why you would go with goats milk kefir as opposed to whole milk kefir however it's really all about the type of cow, at least for me. I've found some benefit from drinking it but found it depends on the cow and the processing method used on the farm if you want to digest it and make sure all the enzymes and probiotics are really in it, which gives a huge immunity boost less the constipation. Sugar has to be there to start the fermentation process but trust me if you get some of the good stuff it will hopefully make you feel better like it has for me. I wish you the best and hope it does. Goats milk is a great alternative if you can't find the specific kind I'm refering and you should digest it okay because the size of the proteins are different in it an make it easier to consume especially if you've developed any allergies to dairy.
