Yeast Infection gone, but still lots of burning and pain

About a month ago I was diagnosed by my gyn with a yeast infection and also a UTI. I was treated for both but when symptoms remained I tried using monistat. That didnt help either and Ive now had vulvar burning for over a month. My doctor did a full panel of tests of tests and they all came up negative, Ive also been through urine anlysis and she cleared me for everythig including candida. So what's going on? I havent been able to have sex with my boyfriend and the daily burning is getting to be too much. Im only 17 and im scared that I might have vulvodynia. My doctor hasnt been listening to me so Im hoping someone on her can help? Any response is very much appreciated.

It might be some form of vulvodynia. Luckily, with prompt treatment, you can keep it from becoming a long-term problem.

First, no more Monistat. If wet mount confirms a yeast infection, treat it with Diflucan oral only. For underwear, use only plain cotton washed in hot water with mild detergent.

Go back to the doctor and be insistent that something is wrong. Do not allow yourself to be put off.

i had the same problem....i had to see a vulval specialist..she said that i had a low grade yeast infection that can not show up on the tests..i had to take diflucan once a week for four months...i also put vaseline down there 3 to 4 times a day.....its to protect the skin....your skin might be over sensitive from the infection....i now feel so much better...
