Hello Friends! - Caregivers Message Board

I would like to hear from others who are caregivers and who also have various health problems. I am caregiver to my husband and I also suffer from MS. Needless to say, this poses problems of its own! It would be great to exchange hints and support to help us through the hard times.
If you are a caregiver lets become friends and give each other support. Arlys

Hi, Arlys!

I am also a newbie to the Health Boards.

Like you, I am primary caregiver to my husband who has end-stage lung disease, cardiomyopathy, and an inoperable abdominal aortic aneurysm. He has been under Hospice care for over 2 years now, and I have a caregiver stay with him during the day while I work.

I have fibromyalgia, was diagnosed with Type II diabetes in 11/03, and, as I had a mild heart attack last Tuesday, had a heart catheterization (4 stents were inserted) last Thursday.

I am very fortunate to have a strong family/friend support system, and I can't praise Hospice enough for all they have done and continue to do for us. But, even with all the support & wonderful doctors, this is a very long, hard road to travel. It is very, very difficult to see someone you love go through so much...and yet, I wouldn't trade it for the world!
