Need a volunteer organization that provides home health care for a stroke victim
My Mom is non ambulitory having suffered a massive stroke almost 3 years ago. The only real option for her care is at home. We need help with her care. She needs everything done for her. My Father is her primary care giver but is working full time for the next 2 years. We need people to come in an help with everyday things.
Is there any organiztion that provides that at little or no cost?
My heart goes out to you family for taking care of your mother. I took care of my grandmother for almost 3 years at our home and in her home for some time. Our family doctor put us in touch with the visiting nurse association and what a god sent it turned out to be. They not only came two or three times a week but also helped us with the daily bathing and gave me time to do things for myself. It was called respetepist (SP?) care it helps with the stress of the everyday routine of taking care of a house bound person and with out this help I don't know if I could of did it on my own. Check in to this. When the caregivers state of mind is good then it's a real gift of love to be able to do this for your family member and I'm glad that I had this opportinuty to do this for my grandmother.
