Caregiver to pain killer addict
Hello I work as a caregiver for a person that is hooked on pain killers and when he is out of them the whole world knows that he is very upset as he yells, threatens, throws things and being a double amputee does not help his pain from his stumps and the pain of arthuritic joints and also a gall bladder. He goes into rages and is very hateful in what he says. Does anyone also work for a client who is addicted to pain killers and such.

If he is running out early every month, then he is either an addict or his doctors are not managing his pain properly. Are you able to go to the dr with him? This needs to be addressed and sooner rather than later. I understand that being a double amputee, he must be in horrible pain, but his running out and then acting the way he does, does NOT excuse his behavior. It also sounds like he needs some mental health help.
