CTS from birth control pills? - Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Message Board

I was wondering if anyone found that their use of birth control pills effected their CT? I had carpal tunnel after having my first daughter ( 4 mths after), then when i got pregnant the 2nd time, i was fine through the whole pregnancy. After going back on the pill my CT is back in full force. at first i thought it was my hormones from being pregnant, now i am wondering if it is the pills? i saw on a web site that it can be from them...any thoughts?

You may have had mild carpal tunnel syndrom all along. The birth control pills cause you to retain water which could be causing the pressure on the medial nerves again. I can see how there could be a connection!!

well, i did have the surgery already on both hands,also,but i was just wondering if that is what is causing so much of the pain now. I was a Data Processor for over 10 years but i have been a stay-at-home mom for the past 5,so it's not like a over work my hands like that anymore......thanks for the reply
