I have had Carpal Tunnel Symdrome Severe Bilateral after surgery since November 1999. The company I worked for gave me a real hard time the main thing was to force me to quit and make a workman's compensation lawsuit disappear. I went through some very stressful and ruff times and at times I felt I could go no further. By my Rheumatologist I was put on a medical leave of absence in May of this year. Due to my hands being in such bad shape and stressed out so much. I developed Fibromalagia, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Cervical Spondylosis, Osteoarthritis, along with the Bilateral CTS. I applied for disability through Social Security and recently heard that I have been approved. We finally went to court on the workman's comp case on December 4th and the judge made his ruling in January 2003 for 100% complete and permanent disability. The order has been signed and we have until March 25th for the company to appeal the decision. Please don't give up or let your employer get away with anything they try to do to you. Stand up if your hands aren't right again. In my case they never will be back to full use again. I had the ncv and emg studies done before and after both surgeries. If your company waits too long it will cause permanent damage to your hands. All the company wanted in my case was a perfect record and no loss time accidents. They didn't even file my injury with W/C until they were forced to. Please keep notes on when, where, and how things happen even though it maybe very little at the time will probably help you in the long run big time.
