| Re: ct recovering time
Ashmad,
Yes, definitely too soon to do much. I had carpal tunnel release on July 20 and I'm still recovering. I had stitches out on August 9. What I found was that my hand was extremely weak. My doc told me to do exercises. I squeeze a tennis ball or sponge. I was told to soak my incision area for about 10 minutes a couple of times a day. Put baby oil in it to soften the skin. What I was left with was some dead skin around the incision that would never heal. I carefully trimmed it up with clean cosmetic scissors. Then you will feel a pulling sensation in the palm of your hand for a few days. Next you will feel something like pulling in the area that I describe like this: if you find the center of the inside of your wrist (where a watch would be) and then go out about 1/2 inch on both sides from that. What I notice now is that I have tough skin around the incision site and down a few layers. It's stiff and doesn't give much. If you want to e-mail me direct, feel free. I've had cts for 4 yrs. [ Please read the posting rules which explain that offering or asking off board contact is not permitted. The boards are to be used for on board sharing, only.
