Ulnar Nerve/ anyone have hand and neck problems - Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Message Board

i had an emg that showed i have nerve compression in my neck from the ulnar nerve. my hand and fingers hurt, plus my neck and shoulders cause me problems.

is this a common problems for the ulnar nerve to be compressed in the neck. i know it is in the wrist and elbow.

anyone have neck problems from the ulnar nerve. jason

I know it hurt my neck from the elbow impingement.

I am unsure about the effect from your particular problem though...sorry.

Are you talking about referred pain? Nerve impingement in the neck can cause CTS or Ulnar nerve injury. The EMG which I've had several of did show nerve impingement in the neck and also impingement at the wrist so it ruled out the neck causing it. I've got herniated discs and facet joint disease in the neck and upper back and they can affect each other even if they are not the cause.

i guess. i'm having a mri wednesday since my emg was possitive for some nerve impingement in the neck. i guess it could be pinched in the neck and elbow or wrist. i just worried because my neck and shoulder hurt.

If you read this, please tell me what your outcome is. I have simular symtoms. love to hear from you. My doc did MRI, not EMG. I have digenerated disc and bone spur. Doc said I have pinche nerves from it but has not done the EMG. He is sending me for epidural cortizone injections to the spine. Did your doc metion this to you?
