do you think this could be the same as your pain?
This sounds pretty bad... and uncomfortable! but also..
There could be other reasons that you are having these symptoms. In CTS, you would experience pain and "pins/neeles"/tingling on the thumb, index, and middle finger (and palm may be included). Alot of doctors just dismiss hand symptoms like you all have stated to just be CTS, but the hand is more complicated than that. THat's why they have specialists for it.
Wear a splint in the meantime to rest your wrists and protect the nerve.
Make sure you are not wearing the splint all the time. Take it off to move your wrist so it wont get stiff. Take anti inflammatory meds like advil, if you are not allergic or anything...
The other possible reasons for your symptoms could be:
1. Compression of the median nerve in the forearm (pronator syndrome)
2. Circulation problems in the forearm
3. Thoracic outlet syndrome (compression of nerve or artery in neck/first rib area) just to name a few...
You should follow up with a doctor. Ideally, an orthopedic hand surgeon. I know it's hard not having health insurance. Find out from your state if you qualify for asisstance, like medicaid or something like that.
Wish I could help you more... Good Luck!
