Hey everyone im 22 years old about to turn 23 and im having shooting pains around my thumb and index finger of my left hand. It started a couple of months ago and its off and on. I do type on a computer for about 10 hours day for probally the last 6 years. The pain is getting to the point were I think I might call my Doctor. It feels like a sharp pain from my index finger down to my thumb and slighty down the wrist. Does this sound like Dequervain Tendinitis?
Yes it does sound like you have that kind of tendonitious. I had it twice already and the second time, it stayed with me for 13 months! Antinflammitories can help. Hot compresses. I am a nail technician, and boy, I am right handed and the pain was horrible. If it keeps coming back there is a surgery to correct it. I chose not to have it. Ask the doctor for ultracet for pain. I take it everyday for my back and it helps, hope you feel better soon, Tammy

Hey Tammy. Thanks for caring so much. The Doctor said I have both tendinitis and begining of carpel tunnel. So i got the best of both worlds I go today to get my x-rays done on my wrist and then from there my doctor said he will let me know if i need to see a hand specialist. Ill keep you update though for sure.
