hiya,
i had my op for cubital tunnel on the 19th feb. all went well and my arm seems to be healing nicely.
anyway i had to go and have my stitches out yesterday.
the nurse couldn't get them out. i seem to have one long peice of thread, that is tied at each end. but it is actually inside apart from the 2 end bits.
no matter how she tugged she coudn't pull the thread through.
in the end she rang up the hospital and i had to go to the trauma clinic. two nurses there had a go and neither of them could get my stiches out.
so now i have a large dressing over my wound and have got to wait til next thursday til i see my consultant to see what will be done.
one of the nurses at the hospital said that
1 they might just cut the thread as close to my skin as possible and leave the rest in my arm, as people can live with that sort of thing in their bodies.
0r
2 they might have to reopen the wound to get the stiches out.
has anyone else ever had this problem and if so what was done to get your stiches out.
