Well I am assuming you had open surgery. The site where the stitches were should be rough and still a little tender. Don't do too much for the first YEAR after surgery. Treat your hand as if it's still in pain. I learned the hard way and did too much too soon. I have been in physical therapy this summer, 2 years after my surgery. I am getting better, but it will take time. Wear the type of gloves that weight lifters wear when you drive or do anything where you hold onto something (like a steering wheel). The gloves have the fingers out but are padded in the palm and that will protect that area that is tender.
