kimmie-Kat,
I'm not sure I am one that you should use a a basis for an answer to your questions. Have you tried physical therapy or alternative exercises ? ultrasound? cortisone shots? accupuncture? vitamin B?
Have you sought a second opinion?
I had ct release on my right hand in 1993. It was very successful and I still don't have problems with that hand, despite me using it more than I ever did, to compensate for problem with my left hand.
I had ct release on my left hand in 2005....and because things didn't go well for healing or whatever, I had surgery again on it, not quite a year later. It still isn't 100%, but it is better than it was after the first surgery. I too, am dropping things, though not a much as you. I've broken dishes, drying them, and I lose a coffee cup full of coffee every so often. I think I have a grasp on them, but I guess not, so something is haywire in the nerves there yet.
I would ask around and seek the best hand surgeon you can find...or best ortho doc that does mainly upper extremity surgery. And be well informed about complications that can result from the surgery to decide if risk of surgery outweighs the problems you are having with you hand now. And too, if you wait until it is worse, it may not be as correctible.
