I'm not sure about the upper arm. When I had it, my lower arm was affected and also my neck and into my back and shoulder blade area. Hurt like heck, too.

For me cts affected the back of my hand closest to my thumb, it went up my arm, staying on that same side, then in the crease of my elbow on that same side. Also, the doc who did my surgery said if you have pain where (if you're female), a bra strap and collar bone come together, that is also part of the median nerve. The median nerve is the nerve affected by cts.
