I was wondering what the best over the counter pain relievers would be for the pain of carpal tunnel. I have really severe pain, tingling, and burning in both of my hands, but it is worse in my left hand. I sleep with braces on both hands, and that helps quite a bit for the most part. Is there one brand over another of pain relievers that works best?
Well Naproxen Sodium is almost the same as Naporsyn, the prescription form of the medicine. I ran out for 2 days with my Naporsyn and 2 Naproxens didn't help much. I've heard that ibuprofen (sp?) is really good. I'd say buy small amounts of one and try it and if it doesn't do much try another one. Just watch out taking too much. My doctor told me that both Naproxen and Naporsyn, if taken for a long time and taking a lot of it is hard on your kidneys.
I've found ibuprofen the best for me. But, not sure about what is a good dosage long term....it can be hard on the kidneys and stomach too, so you don't want to overdo it, either.
My brother, a chiropractor, says aspirin is a good anti inflammatory.
