I had a similar problem and two doctors told me I had carpal tunnel. After two months and many test I went to a third doctor and found out the problem was in my shoulder. If you are a right handed welder and the problem is on your left hand, you may be putting too much pressure on your support arm and neck. The nerves come out of your spine and run through cavities down to your wrist. Muscles support these nerves. When they get fatigued, the nerve touches the passage. Change your work stance. Work at toning the neck, shoulders and arm muscles.
