Hello,

I am researching reasons why my hands go numb and hurt all the time. Could this be carpal tunnel?

It happens in both hands all throughout the day and night. It wakes me up when I try to sleep. I often have difficulty holding things or buttoning things. I would write more, but my hands are asleep and stiff right now. The only thing not tingling/hurting is my pinkies.

I am only 24, have no health insurance, and work 2 jobs. Is there anything I can do to help this? Anyone else been where I am?

I am having numbness and tingling in both hands and feet and it keeps me awake at night. Been going on for over a year. Drs have no idea what it is and have ruled out several things including CTS. It sounds like you may have it as they told me that CTS affects mainly the three fingers not including the pinky because the pinky has its own nerve. Mine involves all digits so I do not have CTS but I think you may and you should get checked.....good luck!

Both of you sound like you have cts. Wear splints to sleep in at night and try taking Aleve for pain or ibuprophen. Try to limit your pinching and grabbing motions. Take breaks and stretch your hands as much as possible. Weight and posture could affect cts, at least that's my guess. Don't carry anything heavy. Cts affects all fingers except half of the ring finger and the pinkie. Those fingers could have cubital tunnel or ulnar tunnel.
