Re: Bruising after Carpal Tunnel Surgery
Be careful! I have researched this to death: surgery for cts is NOT as successful as the industry wants you to believe. In fact, there are a host of reasons and levels of failure, and different recovery times and outcomes.
Mostly, you only hear about the "fantastic" results, not the bad ones. I've found that for every "I went back to work in 3 days" accounts there are three "it was miserable".
Everybody must ask the hard questions about surgery, and it should be the absolute LAST resort - when nothing else works.
For me, the only thing that worked was physical therapy (massage). But that was expensive. Then I found that the Carpal Therapist did the same massage mechancially. It worked just as well. (Some PT's sell it but you can get it on the web too.) And it's a heck of a lot cheaper than visiting the PT weekly.
So always get a second opinion - and don't look at surgery as the God send its talked up to be.
...........Just my opinion.
