| what do I do now?
As I stated in my last thread, I just had a cortisone shot. After four days, I'm noticing that it's starting to work. I don't have nearly as much pain as I did just a few days ago. My doctor told me that if it worked I would be a good candidate for surgery. The problem is... if I am to have surgery I need it done by December 31 because of insurance. As of January 1, I start all over again with a high deductible. Because my deductible has been met for the year, if I was to have surgery again it would cost me nothing. My question is, do I hurry up and call my doctor and let him know that my cortisone shot worked? Or do I wait until it wears off and the pain comes back? (I know that this could be all the way into next year.) I'm so afraid my doctors will think I just want surgery and nothing else. But this isn't the case at all. I want to get surgery over with if that's inevitable anyway. From my understanding, cortisone does not cure carpal tunnel. it only gets rid of the pain temporarily. Am I correct in this? What would you do? Please please! Somebody tell me what they would do.
