Realistically, how long after carpal tunnel surgery should I expect to be able to go back to work? I do typing and desktop publishing (which I'm sure is how I got this in the first place). I have an appointment with the surgeon next month, and I want to have as much info from "personal experience" as I can before I go there.
I had carpal tunnel and three trigger finger releases 3 weeks ago. Originally, the surgeon said I would be off work with no use of my hand for 2 weeks. Then she allowed me back to work after only one week with very limited use of my hand. I am a preschool teacher, do limited use was difficult, but it was better for me than sitting at home. My hand is still sore at times, and I am seeing an OT twice a week, But glad to be back at work.
