my 11 year old daughter has been complaining of wrist pain in her writing hand. she says the pain starts by the wrist and goes up near the thumb. she is active in dance and is always practicing gymnastics too. she has been working out with push ups and pull ups and very light weight lifting once or twice a week too. she is also into jumping for cheerleading and recently said the front of her one knee was hurting (below the kneecap). i will take her to dr. if the pain continues but has anyone experienced this? we are going to try the ice and rest first. any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks.
That sounds like a lot to do for an 11 year old. Push ups, pull ups and weights may be leading to pain in the wrist and thumb. Have her stop for a few days and see if the pain stops. I have a niece that age and she's into sports, but I don't think she does any push ups, pull ups and weights.
