It is very possible to be gluten intolerant and not have a celiac disease diagnosis. I am gluten intolerant and have been eating gluten-free for 6 1/2 years. When I eliminated all gluten from my diet, the relief was practically immediate. When I reintroduced gluten after eating GF for 4 months, all the problems came back - so I went back to the GF diet - the symptoms again went away, including the debilitating migraines I suffered with. On a positive note, I then was able to eat dairy products without the lactose intolerance problems!
