My antibody test results. what do they mean?

Hi! New here...I have had chronic anemia for the last 6 years or so, but otherwise no "symptoms" of celiacs. My hemotologist screened me for multiple issues that can cause anemia and said my celiac panel came back positive. He says that he is over 99% sure that I have the disease, despite the lack of "typical" symptoms.

The IgA and IgG tests were run multiple times as his front office staff messed up the coding not once but twice so I had to get blood taken 3 times (that's why there are multiple results below). Here are my test results:

Anti-Endomysial IgA - Positive
AntiGliadin IgA - 7.8 u/mL (previous results of 45 and 49)
AntiGliadin IgG - 80.0 u/mL (previous results of 123 and 114)
tTG IgA - 101 u/ML
ImmunoA, Quant - 163 mg/dL
HLA DQ2 - Detected
HLA DQ 8 - Not Detected

SOOOOOOOOOOO, I don't know what any of that means (other than the HLA genetic tests), and there are no reference ranges on my lab report. He has referred me to a GI for biopsy, but I can't even be seen until February for a consult!!!!!

If anyone can tell me reference ranges for "normal", thanks in advance!

Re: My antibody test results. what do they mean?

Although I have Celiac Disease I am certainly no expert on the test results but this is what I see. You show positive for one of the genes (HLA DQ2 - Detected). And the ttg iga is very high. 0-19 is normal. Yours is 101. Mine was 63 when I was diagnosed. To get a true diagnosis a biopsy needs to be done. And you must continue to eat gluten until the biopsy is performed. My suggestion to you is call the gastroenterologist's office and get on a cancellation list so that you may be seen earlier. Good luck to you.
